Kelvan

The Kelvan is a cherished Maharashtrian pre-wedding ritual that serves as a beautiful prelude to the main ceremony. Typically held a few days before the wedding, it involves both the bride and groom's families inviting each other, or being invited by close relatives, for a special feast. This auspicious event begins with a prayer to the families' Kuldevta (family deity) for blessings, followed by the sharing of a lavish, traditional meal and an exchange of gifts.
